There are currently three publications related to Gunung Bagging and of significant interest to our website readers. All are written in the English language.

Published in digital format (PDF/EPUB) in 2021, Gunung Nusantara is an introduction to 100 of Indonesia’s finest mountain and volcano treks, covering a huge area from Aceh to Maluku, and based on first-hand experiences climbing each and every one of them since 2009. Peaks featured include Gunung Rinjani, Gunung Merbabu, Dieng, Krakatau, Gunung Kerinci and Gunung Agung. Gunung Nusantara can be purchased here.

Coming in November 2024, also in digital format (PDF/EPUB), Exploring Malaysia’s Mountains is a companion volume to Gunung Nusantara, this time covering 50 fabulous mountains in Malaysian Borneo and the Malay Peninsula. Mountains featured include Gunung Kinabalu, Batu Lawi, Gunung Tahan, Gunung Korbu, and the Cameron Highlands region. The book also includes several articles not available anywhere else. Exploring Malaysia’s Mountains can be pre-ordered here.

Also expected in late 2024, in physical format (paperback), The Relative Mountains of Earth: The Ribus is an epic work which lists all 7150 Ribus across the entire planet, covering peaks in all seven continents. The Ribu concept was originally created by Gunung Bagging co-founders in 2009 but this publication is mainly the result of work undertaken since 2019 by an international team and includes a large list of collaborators and contributors. The book contains photographs, vivid stories and articles. Details on how to pre-order a first edition of The Relative Mountains of Earth will be coming soon.
